Hi, my name is Luke! I launched Lux Eternal as a music project for the purpose of sharing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that can be used for congregational and personal worship that are both Biblically rich in substance and musically modern in style. Some of these are original songs written by me and/or my friends; some of them are traditional songs that have been reworked for the 21st century.

Why am I doing this? I’ve been a worship leader for over 20 years. As I’ve grown in my relationship with Christ and with leading worship, I’ve struggled with finding modern worship songs with strong theology that also fit musically into the context of my local church. Research has shown that nearly all of the top worship songs that are sung in churches today are written by a mere 5 megachurches (source). While I continue to use some of those songs, I’ve also been incorporating original songs written by myself and friends (as well as reworked versions of traditional songs) into the services at my local church.

As these original / reworked songs have taken root in my local church community, I’ve felt called to make them available to the global Church in the hopes that they can enable other congregations to worship God in both spirit and truth. I hope they can be a blessing to you, your local church, and during your personal worship.
